Ace Frehley, KISS’s original guitarist has passed away. As the music industry mourns yet another loss, not long ago Ozzy Osbourne also passed away. It’s like a sucker punch to your gut when the world loses such amazing talent. KISS performed at Cheyenne Frontier Days several years ago, but Ace Frehley wasn’t in that year’s lineup.

When Swift’s was a teenager and a new up and coming country artist I had the pleasure of interviewing her over the phone. I was an entertainment reporter for the Wyoming Tribune Eagle at the time. She made two tour stops at Cheyenne Frontier Days in 2008 and another in 2009. My article appeared in the WTE’s Frontier Edition in July of 2009.

You can find my articles, autographs and lanyards, etc. in the Karen Cotton papers collection at the University of Wyoming American Heritage Center, at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum and at the Wyoming State Archives. According to the official University of Wyoming Football Facebook page UW lost to UNLV after rain and hail postponed the game. But the game eventually took place. The hail could have been an advantage for UW’s football players whom are seasoned to play and practice in colder conditions than UNLV didn’t matter much tonight.
