Cheyenne Frontier Nights 7/29/2016

KISS with special guest Aaron Watson played Cheyenne Frontier Nights.

Rock icons, KISS, performed their Freedom to Rock tour with the usual blast of hard-hitting rock and roll, lights and pyrotechnics.  Before the curtain dropped, the fog machines went off filling the floor with thick misty cloud and then over the PA you hear “You wanted the best, you got the best.”  The curtain dropped and there was the four-member group opening the show with their smash hit Detroit Rock City and it only got better from there, with hit after hit.

Gene Simmons spewed fake blood, breathed fire and of course had his trademark tongue-wagging all while crushing on his bass guitar.

Tommy Thayer, lead guitarist, thrashed out riff after riff, Eric Singer hit the drums with precision and vigor.

Paul Stanley talked to the audience announcing that they were playing smaller cities that do not regularly see larger nationally known acts.  He also let the crowd know that on every stop they had a member of the military acting as “Roadie of the Day”.   He thrilled the crowd by flying through the air on a harnessed cable to a circular, stage that slowly spun in the middle of the floor, where he was able to be closer to the enthusiastic crowd.

Cheyenne Mayor, Rick Kaysen, presented the band with the key to the city and the band presented veterans with a sizable check.

KISS, still has the talent of years past.  It was an energy filled night of rock-n-roll and patriotism.
