With the Winter Olympics starting soon the official Facebook page of the Olympics and Paralympics posted a video of torch bearer rap artist and The Voice coach, Snoop Dogg in Milan, Spain.
This is their post from their official Facebook page:
“Today we celebrate Women and Girls in Sports Day.
Women have shaped the Daddy of ’em All since the very beginning. Over the decades, cowgirls competed in relay races, trick riding, and bronc riding, leaving behind a legacy of grit, strength, and unforgettable moments. Their stories continue to inspire us as we follow in their footsteps, both in the arena and beyond.
Cowgirls come in all forms. Some train horses. Some ranch. Some stay home and wrangle babies. Others work in offices and wrangle clients. Whatever your brand of cowgirl is, live it authentically and unapologetically.
Women continue to make a powerful impact across the organization, from our General Committee to our Board of Directors and staff.
Their dedication, leadership, and passion represent the heart of Wyoming’s Western spirit and the future of women in sports, business, and beyond.”

Today, Foreigner just announced their new tour! And they’ll be in several towns in Colorado, which is nearby where Life is as Sweet as Cotton Candy is based. Our magazine is based in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
I guess their last farewell tour wasn’t their last tour after all! Yay!
The closest show on this tour will be in Greeley, Colorado at the Union Colony Civic Center on February 28 at 7:30 p.m.

As a side note:
I hung out with Foreigner a few times when the Blue Arena was formerly called the Budweiser Events Center. The first time I met them a couple of Foreigner’s band members tested out Nintendo Wii’s “Beatles Rock Band” game back stage for a video game review for us when I worked at the Wyoming Tribune Eagle. At the time we did a lot of video game reviews before games were released by Nintendo and Microsoft XBox.
And another time that I met Foreigner was for a day-in-the-life story of how the band sets up for a show and how their whole day goes into the concert. A third time was for a figure skating event, Improv-Ice, on September 25, 2010 at 7 p.m. that involved Foreigner performing for a TV Live broadcast performance with U.S. Olympic figure skaters. One of those skaters was Evan Lysacek, according to the ticket stub I saved.
My mom was still alive at that time, and she came along with me to that event. We both met the U.S. Olympic figure skaters, which was one of her dreams come true. She and I always watched the winter Olympics together. She especially loved figure skating. She was so thrilled to meet them. She also was thrilled to also meet Foreigner.
Many years later when Foreigner played at the Casper Events Center, which is now the Ford Wyoming Center, I took my Uncle Charles with me. He and I met up with Michael Bluestein, their keyboardist, before the show. I’ve never seen my uncle happier than on that day.
He grew up listening to their music and I also did. All of the members of Foreigner, they’re all really great guys. And I’m blessed to have all of the experiences that I’ve had with them!
Here are my backstage passes, guitar pics, a ticket stub and a souvenir paper about what their game plan was for the day, which was dated Friday September 4. I have no idea what year it was and I will have to do some more research.
I kept my Foreigner collection because hanging out with them, especially during the day-in-the-life piece they even let me listen to them play and be on the side of their stage, which was one of the best experiences of my life! Having a baby, my daughter Katie, was the most rewarding experience of my life though, even though it was scary, nothing will top having her, or being a mom.
The majority of my journalism related collection from my 30 years of covering entertainment journalism is at the University of Wyoming American Heritage Center in the “Karen Cotton Papers.”

Tyler Hynes shows how this fan was asked to give her money and the scammer even crafted a video that looked and sounded like it was Tyler talking. Beware of scammers.
A lot of people in the U.S. who were hit by the recent winter storm may be annoyed to be out of power still in some states. But, you must remember in this world where instant gratification is usually easily obtained, that there are hard working human beings who are trying their best and risking their lives to restore everyone’s power like this story below:
